Big Announcement!!

Velocity_logo-1_small

We would like to announce our partnership with Velocity Sports Performance

They help athletes from all sports improve their speed, power, and agility. Their training programs have been scientifically developed and proven over the past twenty years by Loren Seagrave, a world-renowned speed coach. They teach proper running mechanics that focus on the start, acceleration, and maximum velocity components of speed development. Their programs also focus on core-strength development, lateral and linear agility, dynamic flexibility, and single/double leg balance. A residual effect of this type of training is “pre-hab” or injury prevention; a strong, well conditioned athlete is less prone to injury. Enclosed you will find an informational brochure regarding our programs.

We have come to an agreement with Velocity that will benefit all our teams in each division! All coaches will be informed in what is offered and will be strongly encouraged to arrange for his team to attend a min. of one session. All details will be given at our Manager’s meeting.

Please Click here to find our more about Velocity.

Thank You,
Tim Jacobson
League President

PONY is an acronym for Protect Our Nation's Youth. The concept for the name originally came from boys at the local YMCA in Washington, Pennsylvania and stood for "Protect Our Neighborhood Youth," but when PONY became an international program in the early 1950's "Neighborhood" was switched to "Nation's."

GGPB is a premier league within the PONY organization with over 430 players.  We are proud of our young players and the support from the community.

Pony Baseball Seeks To:

  • Expand its youth baseball and girls softball programs to young people throughout the world.
  • Continue to seek corporate and organizational partnerships to expedite and enhance the work of the corporation.
  • Seek ways to subsidize the cost of tournament travel for participating teams and World Series hosts.
  • Provide additional materials to member leagues to assist them in providing an improved baseball/softball experience for the young people of their community.
  • Provide increased funding for Zone operating expenses.
  • Expand the display of historical materials and equipment at the headquarters.
  • Expand the headquarters display of state-of-the-art equipment available to leagues.
  • Continue to seek ways and means of providing continuing education and training for staff, Field Directors, league officers and managers and coaches to enable PONY to provide an ever more effective program.
  • Cooperate with Major League Baseball, Baseball USA and other groups interested in the continued development and expansion of the game of baseball and softball.
  • Seek partnerships with other organizations that may enable PONY to more effectively carry out or expand its mission.
  • Find ways to recognize and acknowledge the efforts of individuals, groups and organizations whose efforts, at any level, have been an asset to the PONY organization in its work to help young people develop into healthier and happier adults.

What would your #1 Improvement be at GGPB.
